Power dissipation efficiency and temperature sensitivity coefficient of 2024Al/Al 18 B 4 O 33 w composite under high strain rate (>0.01 s −1 ) at elevated temperature is studied. The composite has two instability zones with the one under low temperature and high strain rate. The power dissipation efficiency of composite from 0.08 to 0.30 is lower than that of unreinforced 2024Al alloy, showing the poorer hot forgeability of composite.
