The article presents and discusses a new method of grinding of magnesium alloys using conventional ceramic grinding. In this method the conditioning (cleaning) of the cutting surface of grinding wheel during grinding operation is applied. It will be shown that this method significantly increases the durability of cutting properties of grinding wheels. Moreover, the geometrical structure of surface layer of grinded workpieces in 3D configuration is assessed as well as manufactured, diamond like carbon coating on the surface is presented.
