New azidobenzenesulfonamides were synthesized and their photochemical properties were investigated. The surface modification of polyethylene (PE) films was carried out by using new azidobenzenesulfonamides was carried out.Antimicrobial activity of PE films with sulfonamide moiety was screened for vitro in the following bacterial: Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Mycobacterium luteum. Preliminary screening of PE films with sulfonamide moiety revealed their inhibitory action against some kinds of bacteria and fungi.
