The production of synthetic Tricalcium Phosphate (β‐TCP, Ca 3 (PO 4 ) 2 ) allows to exclude all disadvantages of biological based ceramics. Moreover the sintered pure‐phase material ensures a high reproducibility without any organic residues or foreign matters. The material was characterized by X‐ray powder diffraction. Using the well‐known structure, the trigonal cell parameters were refined using the information of the Powder Diffraction File PDF #9‐169 to ([1], space group R‐3c, #167, hexagonal setting) : a = b = 10.4183(5) Å, c = 37.346(2) Å, γ = 120°, V = 3510.5(5) Å 3 ; Z = 21, D x = 3.081 g/cm 3 . These values represent the lowest lattice parameters for this structure, because of its lowest possible Mg‐ content.
