This work deals with the synthesis of functional impact modifier Polystyrene–block‐Polybutyl acrylate‐block‐Poly(Styrene‐co‐acrylic acid) (PS‐b‐PBA‐b‐P(S‐co‐AA)) triblock copolymer through atom transfer radical polymerization. This triblock copolymer is characterized by FTIR, 1 H NMR, and GPC. Compatibilizing effect of synthesized impact modifier PS‐b‐PBA‐b‐P(S‐co‐AA) is studied in polymer blends of Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and Polystyrene (PS). Mechanical, rheological, and morphological properties of PET/PS blend are studied.
