In the present investigation, nickel‐substituted cobalt ferrite (Ni 0.5 Co 0.5 Fe 2 O 4 ) nanoparticles are synthesized using chemical co‐precipitation method. Sodium hydroxide (NaOH) base is used as precipitant. The formation of single‐phase cubic structure and the average crystalline sizes are evaluated by X‐ray diffraction technique. The microstructural features is examined by scanning electron microscopy. The high‐ and low‐frequency absorption bands (600–400 cm −1 ) of Ni 0.5 Co 0.5 Fe 2 O 4 are investigated using Fourier‐transform infrared spectroscopy analysis.
