Biocompatibility and biodegradability are one of the most important properties of polymer hydrogels for pharmaceutical or medical applications. Poly(aspartamide)s, due to their peptide like structure possess these properties. In this study, swelling behavior and biodegradation of poly(aspartamide) based hydrogels are reported. Degradation of poly(aspartic acid) based hydrogels was followed according to the mass and elastic modulus change of hydrogel cylinders in the presence of different enzymes and in minimal essential medium.
