Summary In the present study, ex‐situ approach of synthesis of polythiophene/CeO 2 composite was adopted. The polythiophene used for the preparation of composite was synthesized by chemical route using oxidant TiCl 4 . The as‐synthesized composite was characterized by X‐ray diffraction and UV‐VIS spectroscopy. The various sensing parameters such as sensing response, stability, response time and recovery time of sample was evaluated. The operating temperature of sample was found to be 423 K.
