Summary In the present work, polymer stabilized blue phase liquid crystal have been prepared by mixing blue phase liquid crystal, mono‐functional monomer, bifunctional monomer and photo initiator in a weight ratio of 93.5:3:3:0.5 respectively. Blue phases, BP‐I and BP‐II were observed during heating and cooling cycles. Polymer stabilized blue phase having a temperature range of 14.8°C and Kerr constant 1.23 nm/V 2 was observed. Hysteresis effect measured in the polymer stabilized blue phase liquid crystal was almost negligible.
