Summary Six pharmaceutical coatings, currently used in commercial pharmaceutical formulation were evaluated for thermal stability using TG/DTG/HF hyphenated techniques. The polymeric coatings were also evaluated by the means of UATR‐FTIR spectroscopy. TG/DTG/HF measurements were performed under non‐isothermal conditions from 40 up to 400 °C linearly at a heating rate of 10 °C · min −1 . The thermal stability of all studied samples that are currently used as coatings on the Romanian pharmaceutical industry was correlated with their chemical composition.
