The synthesis of new Lucifer Yellow labeled hyaluronic acid‐ and alginate hydrogels that are covalently cross‐linked is reported. Biocompatibility and biodegradation of the fluorescent tagged hydrogel is investigated using an in vivo fluorescence imaging system.
