Samples of syndiotactic 1,2‐poly(1,3‐butadiene) subjected to different thermal and mechanical treatments have been characterized by DSC and X‐ray. The treatments induce changes in the crystallinity, crystal size and size of the unit cell, but do not evidence polymorphism. Values of the thermal expansion coefficients of the axes of the unit cell have been determined by X‐ray measurements at various temperatures.
