Interaction of silicon dioxide molecule up to the small silica protoparticle and primary particle formation, and influence of hydrogen chloride (HCl), water (H 2 O) and inert molecules (nitrogen N 2 ) “under flame condition” and “after cooling” on structure and properties of fumed silica were investigated by quantum‐chemical simulations. An attempt to give definition of surface concept on atomic level was made.
