A Field of Dreams was a movie about baseball. The theme was “Build it and They Will Come.” Bioprocessing as an industry has been waiting for someone to step up to the plate and build a large business, based on the technology. The large business was necessary to bring about a revolution to move the Chemical and Plastics Industries towards a new business model, based on more sustainable practices. By providing a unique combination of properties in fiber and packaging applications, PLA was the obvious first choice for companies looking to make bioprocessing a commercial reality.
