Bioabsorbable lactide polymers and copolymers were self‐reinforced by die‐drawing to increase their strength and ductility. Self‐reinforced materials were applied in manufacturing ultrahigh‐strength implants, like pins, screws, tacks and stents, for tissue management in different disciplines of surgery.
