The interrelationship between the general characteristics of structure of biopolymer conformational energy hypersurface and possible mechanisms of conformational movements and elementary acts of functional processes is considered. The fundamental principle underlying regulation and control within biological systems at the macromolecular level are discussed. A new approach to modeling the dynamics of functional processes is proposed.
