The equilibrium association of urethane groups in a series of 4, 4′ ‐ diphenylmethane diisocyanate (MDI)/polypropylene oxide) (PPO) based poly(ether urethane) elastomers (PUE) was studied on the basis of IR‐spectroscopy data. The concentration of associates containing 2,3 and 4 urethane groups is calculated, which permits immediate monitoring of changes in PUE mechanical properties using the model of a physically cross‐linked polymer.
