Pressure has been rediscovered as an additional parameter that can be used in optimizing the performance of traditional polymers. Some interesting advanced applications are under development. This paper reviews some promising research trends in areas such as process optimization, enhanced processing, the formation of polymer particles, polymer gels and plastics recycling.
