Infrared and Raman spectra of polymers obtained by a two–stage emulsion polymerization process were measured. The spectra were analyzed in context with other experiments to obtain information on the internal structure of the polymer particles. In the case of incompatible polymers, the extension of the interfacial layer between both polymers can be derived.
