Aluminium‐27 NMR has been employed to study several different aluminiumporphyrins based on (5, 10, 15, 20‐tetraphenyl)porphyrin (TPPH 2 ). The aluminiumporphyrins were formed by reacting a stoichiometric amount of trialkylaluminium with TPPH 2 to yield TPPAl‐R. The resulting aluminiumporphyrin was modified by adding a stoichiometric amount of various carboxylic acids to form aluminiumporphyrin carboxylates that had varying steric and electronic effects on the macrocycle.
