Small angle neutron scattering studies have been carried out on copolymer latices prepared using acrylonitrile and styrene. These showed that when one of the monomers was deuterated good contrast in scattering was obtained between the two polymers. In the case of poly(acrylonitrile) ‐ poly(styrene) particles evidence was obtained for a core shell morphology with the poly(acrylonitrile) forming the outer shell.
