Melting and crystallization behaviour of poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVF 2 )/poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVAL) blends have been analyzed. From Hoffman‐Weeks plots we have found that an appreciable melting point depression of PVF 2 does not exist. On the other hand, we have found that the presence of PVAL affects the morphological factor γ, which is not constant with the composition of the blend. This factor suggests that the melting behaviour of this system depends on kinetics effects. The kinetics of isothermal crystallization was analyzed by means of the Avrami equation.
