Small angle neutron scattering may be used to provide information on the thermodynamic basis of polymer‐polymer miscibility via the temperature and concentration dependences of the observed interaction parameters. The kinetics of the phase separation process may also be followed and this in turn gives further information about the blend compatibility as well as providing tests of current theories of spinodal decomposition in binary mixtures.
