A mechanical model which accounts for the specific properties of linear low density polyethylene fibers is presented. This model is built on the classical High Modulus Takayanagy model which has been modified to interrupt the crystal continuity. It introduces two analogical parameters which are determined by thermal analysis and theoretical treatment of the stress strain curves of the fibers. The values of these parameters and their change with draw ratio are consistent with the increase of elastic modulus.
