After an introductory description of the chemical and crystallographic properties of Graphite Intercalation Compounds, their general electrochemical behavior is examined. The reversible intercalation/de‐intercalation process leading to graphite salts is more specifically described based on the author's view of interlayer capacitive electroadsorption.
