With a Democrat now controlling the White House, changes to the enforcement of labor law were to be expected. The only open question was when, in light of the myriad issues facing our nation, the Biden administration would begin seeking to change the labor law landscape. Five months? Five weeks? No. Five hours. Before sunset on the very first day of President Biden's administration, he took his first action to steer the NLRB towards a more union‐friendly tack. This was far from his last action in the early days of his administration to put in place a more pro‐union agency. These actions were a bold message that organized labor has President Biden's attention and this administration intends to move forward with a pro‐labor agenda.
