During an election campaign, it is common to presume that all managers and supervisors are on the same page as the company with regard to messaging. However, such is not always the case. A particular supervisor may side with the employees and their interest in a union if, for example, the supervisor has a family history with unions or believes that the company has mistreated the employees under her watch. Companies that identify disloyal supervisors should take steps to ensure they do not interfere with a campaign.
