Fear: Unions stress that management relies, during their campaigns, on the employees' fear of conflict once a union is in the workplace and fear of management retaliation for supporting the union. Organizers tap into justifiable employee anger about workplace injustices, exaggerate the extent of these injustices, and incentivize employees to be courageous and determined enough to act by signing a union card.
