By a 2–1 margin, the UAW lost its union election among workers at a Mississippi Nissan factory. Predictably, the union has filed unfair labor practice charges in hopes of getting the National Labor Relations Board to invalidate the election results and order a repeat. In what is perhaps the most unusual charge, the union claimed that management carried out illegal surveillance of employees for years and used the findings to rate them on a scale of union‐friendliness.
