In a recent publication by Akar and co‐workers ( Eur . Polym . J . 2006 , 42 , 2361), it was claimed that bulk polypyrrole with a conductivity of 4 000 S · cm −1 was obtained by a simple chemical synthesis. If reproducible, this would be a quite revolutionary result for the polymer electronics community. In this communication, we report that this result is not reproducible, and demonstrate, by comparison to literature results, that it is also not plausible.
