Cover: The field of microwave‐assisted polymerizations is attracting continuously growing interest, additionally inspired by the introduction of single‐mode microwave reactors at the beginning of the millennium. This new class of reaction devices has overcome the safety uncertainties associated with domestic microwave ovens and has paved the way not only to an annually increasing number of publications, but also more sophisticated polymerizations. This review describes prominent examples of the polymerizations hitherto realized with microwave irradiation, including a critical account of the “microwave effects”. Further details can be found in the Review by F. Wiesbrock, R. Hoogenboom, and U. S. Schubert * on page 1739.
