Summary: High throughput methodologies were applied for the synthesis and testing of late transition metal complexes of Fe with bidentate diazabutadiene or tridentate diiminopyridine ligands in the polymerization of ethylene. Fe DIP complexes with ligands derived from amines with two or three annealed aromatic rings were found to be highly active catalysts when activated with methylaluminoxane. This finding can be rationalized based on models previously developed.
