The divalent titanium compounds [(η 6 ‐C 6 H 5 Me)Ti(Cl 2 AlCl 2 ) 2 ] ( 1 ) and [(η 6 ‐C 6 Me 6 )Ti(Cl 2 AlCl 2 ) 2 ] ( 2 ) are syndiospecific catalysts in the polymerization of styrene when activated with methylaluminoxane. The polystyrene is of exceptionally high molecular weight.
