Graft copolymers of poly( N ‐isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAAm) on a poly(acrylic acid) backbone retain the temperature‐induced phase transition behavior of PNIPAAm over a wide range of compositions even at pH 7,4 and should be useful for sustained‐release, bioadhesive drug delivery systems at physiologic conditions.
