The aim of this article is to prove Poincaré‐type inequalities concerning functions in Sobolev spaces with anisotropic weights that appear in the investigation of the Oseen equations. The inequalities are a generalization and an extension of inequalities we established in a previous work. As an application, we derive existence result and anisotropically weighted L p estimates for the pressure of the Oseen problem in ℝ 3 . (© 2006 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
