this paper we state some basic facts about reaction--diffusion equations for chargedspecies. Unlike the usual approach in device simulation, including only electrons andholes, we admit an arbitrary number of charged species. Our main aim is to show, thatregardless of its complexity, the system of partial differential equations governing drift,diffusion and reaction of charged species has a convenient mathematical structure.
