The paper discusses the relations between the usual wave operator, the adiabatic switched one and the ABEL wave operator. By means of H = ‐ i d / dx + q ( x ) examples are constructed where the usual wave operator exists but the adiabatic switched one does not exist, or both exist and they are not equal.
