Stereocomplexation of the biopolymer polylactic acid offers an excellent opportunity for the production of bio‐based products, which can be utilized in technical applications due to their thermal and mechanical properties. This article deals with the current prospects of cost‐efficient processing from the molten state while highlighting the scientific progress and the useful research approaches required to meet this goal.
