The homo‐crystallization of stereo diblock poly(lactide)s with high number‐average molecular weight (M ‾ n ) values of ca. 10 5  g mol −1 is accelerated by the incorporated relatively short poly( D ‐lactide) (PDLA) segments withM ‾ n  = 2.0–7.7 × 10 3  g mol −1 during heating and PDLA segments withM ‾ n  = 3.5 and 7.7 × 10 3  g mol −1 during cooling. The relatively short PDLA segments linked to PLLA segments, which have sufficient lengths to form stereocomplex crystallites, are very effective to shorten a crystallization timeand to increase the productivity and thermal stability.
