Frontispiece: The effect of shearing on the final properties of soy protein plastics is studied using counter‐rotation and co‐rotation in a twin screw extruder. This research shows that the melt‐extrusion process can be used to obtain environmentally friendly, compostable materials from soy proteins and biodegradable polyesters. Further details can be found in the article by S. Bonham, M. Misra, * and A. K. Mohanty on page 788 .
