Cover: Partly dehydrated gels of potassium poly(acrylate) change their enthalpy as referred to maximum swollen equilibrium gel, due to the changes in molecular and ionic interactions. Microcalorimetry measurements of swelling to equilibrium for such gels reveal an enthalpy “spectrum”, which makes it possible to evaluate separately main contributions to molecular interactions in polyelectrolytes.
