The synthesis of poly[3‐(6‐tetrahydropyran‐2‐yloxyhexyl)‐2,5‐thienylene] has been performed with a nickel catalyst, obtaining a highly regioregular polymer. The deprotection of the pyranyl function restores the OH group giving a polymer which is not soluble in the usual organic solvents but soluble in 1‐methyl‐2‐pyrrolidone, indicating that no crosslinks are present. The protected form was characterised by means of GPC, 1 H NMR, FTIR and UV‐Vis spectroscopy and was found to give Langmuir‐Blodgett multilayered structures.
