The influence of lactide configuration on the chain microstructure of lactide/ε‐caprolactone copolymer was investigated. The copolymerization was carried out in the presence of Al(acac) 3 , AlEt 3 and ZnEt 2 as initiators. The chain microstructure analysis of the copolymers was performed by means of 13 C NMR spectroscopy. The effect of lactide configuration on the transesterification and randomization of the copolymer chain was determined. The contribution of transesterification processes in the case of D , L ‐lactide was found to be considerably higher than that observed when L , L ‐lactide was used.
