Oligomers with poly(butylene terephthalate) (PBT) containing organosilane extremities were prepared by reacting an α‐allylic oligomer of PBT with silanethiols or with silanes. The α‐allylic oligomer of PBT was synthesized by condensation of allyl alcohol, 1,4‐butanediol and terephthaloyl dichloride. All the oligomers were characterized by means of proton nuclear magnetic resonance, Fourier‐transform infrared spectroscopy, size‐exclusion chromatography, gas chromatography and high‐performance liquid chromatography. Their thermal properties were also investigated.
