Specific volume, thermal expansion coefficient and thermal pressure coefficient are measured for poly(vinyl acetate) of different molecular weights. From these data the Flory equation‐of‐state characteristic parameters v * , T * and p * are determined. Comments on theoretical expectations and experimental behaviour are made.
