Cover: Pipe wall thinning has to be controlled to follow the degradation rate in aggressive environment. Corrosion monitoring is usually done by electrochemical technique in laboratories but is not always suitable on‐site. EMAR is a nondestructive and contactless technique to access the thickness of a material. Steel thickness reduction is measured by electrochemical, EMAR, and ex‐situ profilometry analysis. EMAR is a reliable technique to monitor thickness reduction of material. More detailed information can be found in: Gildas Diguet, Hina Miyauchi, Sho Takeda, Tetsuya Uchimoto, Nicolas Mary, Toshiyuki Takagi, Hiroshi Abe , EMAR monitoring system applied to the thickness reduction of carbon steel in a corrosive environment, Materials and Corrosion 2022 , 73 , 658.
