Cover: Microstructure evolution of the AA1050 Al processed by equal‐channel angular pressing (ECAP) up to eight passes, which led to improvements in pitting potentials mean values due to the formation of an ultrafine‐grained structure with fragmented intermetallic particles (at the top – figures a, b, c). The distribution of average misorientation angles (at the bottom – figures d, e, f) shows green and red areas that coincide with regions that accumulate greater plastic strain around fragmented intermetallic particles, which in turn act as the preferential sites for the onset of pitting corrosion.
