Cover: The cover shows an experimental set up for local electrochemical investigations regarding the anodic oxide formation and properties on a titanium alloy with heterogeneous microstructure. A micro capillary cell is located on various individual grains of TiAlV6‐4. The capillary realizes a miniaturization of the working electrode area down to approximately 10 ‐5 cm 2 . As indicated by the current density/potential curves, the anodic oxidation was carried out by cyclovoltammetric measurements with stepwise‐extended revise potentials. It was evidenced that the crystallographic orientation of exposed grain surfaces significantly influences the kinetics of oxide formation as well as the appearance of side reaction, which preferentially took place on grains with {0001} direction. More detailed information can be found in: U. Langklotz, M. Noeske, M. Schneider , Micro‐electrochemical investigation of the passive behavior of thin anodic titanium oxide films on TiAlV6‐4, Materials and Corrosion 2018 , 69 , 1693.
