Cover: The poor bio‐corrosion resistance significantly limits the further clinical applications of biodegradable magnesium alloys. Especially, the second phases will induce intensive galvanic corrosion reactions. In the present study, a single‐phase solid solution alloy of Mg‐1.5Zn‐0.6Zr is newly designed. The results reveal that the Mg‐1.5Zn‐0.6Zr alloy owns perfect corrosion resistance which owes to the elimination of intensive galvanic corrosion reactions, the formation of much more compact and uniform corrosion films, and the stabilization of magnesium solid solution by Zr. In particular, the Mg‐1.5Zn‐0.6Zr showed a desired uniform corrosion behavior during degradation process, which can be reasonably explained by cyclic polarization measurements from an electrochemical viewpoint. More information can be found in: T. Li, H. Zhang, Y. He, X. Wang, Comparison of corrosion behavior of Mg‐1.5Zn‐0.6Zr and AZ91D alloys in a NaCl solution, Materials and Corrosion , 2015, 66 , 7 .
