Optical microscopy (OM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and analytical transmission electron microscopy (AEM) were used to characterise anocid films on aluminium. Of special interest in our investigations was to study the dependence of the microstructure of the films on the current density at sample‐preparing. The results show that the size of the pores increases with increasing current density.
